FIRE DESTROYS 47TH STREET MARKETPLACE IN CHICAGO

A fire has destroyed the 47th Street Marketplace building located at 47th and King Drive in Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood.  Among the businesses damaged and or destroyed in the fire are:

• Jokes and Notes Comedy Club
• Blue 47 Restaurant
• Steelelife Art Gallery
• Health Care Center
• The Jamaican Consulate
• Spoken Word Cafe
• Afrocentric Bookstore
